But we had it all

Another year no draft
left but instead of left field
We'll do our own headlocks
Planet of sound or Mark's backyard
As time went by, as time lingered on,
as the sonic fireworks faded
As time went by we knew it wasn't gonna last
and tonight might be our all-state final

We weren't head off the class
Just wild-eyed boys with fawl tactics
The speaker warping power cranking up our college rock mantras
Made a skull and bones about it
We knew we outcooled all
our teenage rivals
V8 engines, mighty monsters!
